Stash Report , June 17, 2012

The numbers were taking a turn for the worst.  I had a dentist appointment too close to Hobby Lobby so of course I have yardage to add.  I buy Kona Cotton at Hobby Lobby.  They have a nice color selection and with the 30 % off , the price is OK.

So this morning I decided I’d better get that string quilt bound so I could subtract something!  Strings at 10 inches ended up at 60″ X 72″….a nice size, and I think since it has lots of seam allowances on the front I can safely subtract a total of 10 yards front, back and binding.  This will be added to the stack going to the Humility of Mary shelter.  Not a real beauty, but warm and sturdy to last a good long time.  Pictures to be posted later…..

So, here are  the numbers…….

Used this week…….10 yards

Used year to date…….100.25……wow, I hit the 100 yard mark!

Bought this week……8 yards (mostly Kona)

Bought year to date……107.00 …….ackkkk, I am beyond the 100 yard mark!

Net used….6.75 yards…..still in the red, but not as bad as it could have been.

Your stash numbers are impressive no matter that you are still in the red (just a little bit). I do a lot of string quilts too, but just use the whole block size to figure my yardage. I like your way better!! It uses more!! 🙂 🙂
